Here at Bona Vista, we really appreciate all of our hard working employees, and we like to show it!  Imagine though, a non-profit agency that is caring for hundreds of children and adults on a daily basis.  We can’t stop the show to host a big party or have everyone pile into an amusement park for a day of fun.  Thanks to COVID-19, not many companies are hosting social gatherings anyhow, but we can’t even on a normal basis.  We have hosted cook-outs where our employees stop in, if they get a chance, grab a bite to eat and head back to work. I don’t think the message of gratitude we are trying to send gets clearly heard when a large number of people can’t make it and have to have a co-worker pick up a meal for them and they don’t get to actually participate in the “event” itself.

We have to provide opportunities for our employees to feel appreciated no matter what shift they are on, what location they work at and no matter what position they hold within the company.  One way we do that is with our referral bonus.  Most people who are familiar with what we do know that it is tough to find people with compassionate hearts that have what it takes to be a caregiver.  Who better to know what it takes than our employees who already do the job? We put them to the task of finding awesome people like themselves to be caregivers at Bona Vista.

So, from now until the middle of November, we have DOUBLED our referral bonus and we are paying a portion of it sooner than usual.  Of course there is always someone who doesn’t like the hamburgers we serve at the cook-outs, but I’ve never heard of anyone turning down money!  The holidays are coming up, COVID-19 has hit so many people financially, so the bigger bonus just felt like the perfect thing to do!!
