True confession: I’ve never been a huge fan of Halloween. I’ve always been a HUGE fan of candy, but the thought of figuring out what you want to be, either buying or making it and then walking around uncomfortable just never appealed to me. I’m a dud. I know. I’m working on it (check out my Minnie Mouse ears in some of these pix…progress!).
That being said, this week is the costume parade for the preschool and Early Head Start kiddos at Bona Vista. I thought I’d just stand outside my door, pass out candy and take the occasional picture. WRONG! It was SO MUCH FUN that I could hardly contain myself from squealing. The kids looked amazing, the staff participated and serious fun was had (oh, and they didn’t do too bad in the candy department, either). How could you not love a good costume parade with the all of the smiles, laughing and love filling the hallway?
The kiddos weren’t the only ones having fun, though. Our adult persons served took part in a brand new trunk-or-treat event, had Halloween parties and even learned a little about why Halloween is even a thing. Learning while having fun. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times since I started here — that’s where the magic happens!
I won’t bore you with more of my ramblings, but check out these faces. They, literally, say 1,000 words!
Until next time…keep a good view on life!
